Am I a complete idiot for only just realising why grocery shopping in the summer is so expensive?!
I shop "smartly" (i.e. I meal plan as much as possible, I use up leftovers, I choose things that are on offer/in season etc), but lately I've been feeling like I'm just haemorrhaging money in the supermarket. We are lucky to not be struggling but I still wince every time I pay!
I was thinking about it and it hit me like a beach ball to the head that it's because everyone's eating fresh fruit, yoghurt, salads, grilled meats and fish etc - not a cheap casserole/cottage pie/pasta bake in sight!
Am I the stupidest shopper to ever live or has anyone else had this realisation 🤣🤣
