West Wittering Car Park - how busy?

Quick question to anyone who lives or is staying around West Wittering at the moment....

I am in W. London and have a free day tomorrow and am craving sea and sand. West Wittering is one of my closest beaches but still around 2.5 hours.

With a few things I have to do in the morning, the earliest I can realistically arrive would be around 11am tomorrow but I'm wondering if I will then find I am spending another half a day queuing to get in the car park?

It's just me on my own and I just want a few hours - to feel the sand underfoot and walk into the sea, so can't really afford to spend all day waiting for a space. Does anyone know how busy it was today for example?

Thank you.

Apparently it’s been absolutely chaotic, their booking system has crashed and people are queuing up for miles to try and gain entry to the car park. You might have better luck now that the Bank Holiday is over but it’s still half term so likely to be pretty busy. There’s a Facebook page if you want to check the latest updates. As an alternative you could try Hayling Island, there’s sand when the tide is out, head for Beachlands car park, there’s a small cafe and toilets too.

Will you be carrying lots of stuff ? We’ve parked at East Wittering before and walked along the beach to West Wittering.

Thank you. I will look at your suggestion. Totally open to somewhere else and have been hit by the.curse of WW car park queues on the past.

How far is it @TheDogsMother. Just me so quite a bit to carry but maybe an option.

Their site is up and running but i believe it is best to book in advance. I know they were sold out for the full bank holiday weekend

I’m worried that even with a booked space, I could be stuck in that queue that wiggles back through the village for hours. I so want to go, but cannot bear the thought of being stuck in the car for six hours in a queue …..

I’m looking at the Facebook site to see what people are saying

About 30 mins if I remember correctly. Nice walk but probably not if you are carrying stuff.
