Can Malibu and Cherry Brandy go off?

A relative emptied their drinks cupboard and gave me a bottle of Malibu. I hasn’t been opened but it could well be years and years old.

Can it go off? Would it be obvious?

Ditto a bottle of Cherry Brandy.

Cherry Brandy can lose its flavour but it doesn't go off, as such.
No idea about Malibu.

Microbiologically probably not, but flavour profiles might change. Sometimes they improve.

Well I sloshed some Malibu on some ice cream and fresh pineapple - seemed good!

No to both. I made prunes in brandy when I moved to my last house and ate them just before I moved out seventeen years later. I wouldn't have wanted to drive though!

I’ve got a bottle of cherry brandy I only bought for a Christmas cake. Me and my boyfriend tried it recently, no it hasn’t gone off. About 2-3 years old.
