Graduation gift - leather bracelet?

I'd like to get my DS's girlfriend a graduation gift for her Masters in Natural Sciences. Immediately after graduation she's off travelling as part of diverse research projects, and then in Sept off to Europe for her PHD. So it needs to be something really light. I was thinking a leather bracelet. I'd appreciate recommendations for specific shops (please don't just say 'Etsy').TIA.

Cash. I think a student, especially off on travels would much rather have money than a leather bracelet from her boyfriends mum she then feels obliged to wear.
