Metered water bills

Just curious to know if our water bill is reasonable? We are in the Thames Water region and started on a meter a couple of years ago.

We have 3 adults living in the house. All of us sometimes wfh and sometimes out of the home. No special needs or health conditions. We use a few watering cans daily for garden pots when the weather is very dry. Washing machine goes on most days. Dishwasher every other day. We all shower every day although some of us take 15 minutes and some of us take 5 minutes.

If you are similar to us, how much do you pay for water?

South east water and our metered bill has gone up to £89 a month since April.

Ours has just gone up to £100 per month.
Thames water. 3 adults. No one works from home but 2 work evening shifts.
all shower once a day, sometimes twice for the one who goes to the gym 5 days a week

Yorkshire Water...just gone up from £36 a month to £50. 2 adults...daily showers, dishwasher daily, 5 washes a week plus watering garden.

Anglian Water, 2 adults but retired so we’re home a fair bit and provide childcare a day a week, dishwasher every other day, washing machine 3 or 4 times a week, 3 (fast) showers each a week (we use the showers at the gym every other day), lots of water butts for the garden but do use the hose in very dry spells: £36 a month, up from £26 last year.

Ours is about £140 every 6 months, Thames Water, but there are only 2 of us, average 10-15 minutes shower each every day. Dishwasher runs no less than every other day, washing machine 4 times per week

£58 a month for two adults. One wfh. Showers and dishwasher every day. Washing machine about 4x a week. Large garden.

Mine is more expensive on meter. The meter systems works in the companies favour as they no longer have to average it out among their customers. There are three of us and I live in a high water stress area, its £65 a month. Beforehand it was just over £50.

We are with Severn Trent and pay £45.50 per month.

Thanks all. We're paying £73/month which I suspect is on the high side. I wish, with all these utilities, that we could just pay for exactly what we use. It would be more of an incentive to save water if you could see your bill going up and down a little.

We tried to go metered after our non metered rates went up to £90 a month. I was told it’d make it cheaper. Well we ended up £500 in debt! 4 adults, 1 child, showers everyday laundry 1-2 x a day, dishwasher 2x a day. WFH everyday. We quickly went back to metered and there we shall stay until the adult children move out at least!

I’m Wessex water using 26m3 a year and I’m paying £20 a month, which after each bill leaves me a few quid in credit.

2 adults, out all day, 4 loads of washing a week, dishwasher 3/4 times. Southern Water £103 a month. I did ring up and say our adult son had moved out and was told the computer doesn’t recognise that! I pointed out that’s why I had rung up to talk to a human.
