We fly tomorrow with a neurodiverse child. Tickets been booked for 6 months, before we even heard of EES. DS is 12 so has to go through EES process. He has photosensitivity on account of autism and camera flashes cause him pain and make his anxiety go through the roof. I have organised disability assistance passes for Mahon but still massively anxious that long queues, anxiety, sensory issues etc could make the whole thing go totally tits up.

anyone been through Mahon recently? How’s it running there? Can anyone remember if there is a flash when they take your pic or is it a digital pic?

I travelled through Mahon last July, so not very recently. But at a supposedly busy time. It’s a lovely small airport and was really quiet.
There were no long queues that you see in busier places.
If I recall correctly you just look at the screen and the photo is taken. Very quick. I don’t recall a large flash.
Menorca is beautiful, enjoy!

Hi, I went through Mahon it at the start of May this year. Very quick and efficient as long as you can all register on the machines. The 'family' queue looked a bit long and slow.

I can't remember if there was a camera flash, its a digital picture, somay have done the turning the screen all white to increase the light briefly. They had 2 people on duty to help progress people through the process.

My neighbours are just back from there with two small children. They said it was reasonably straightforward and no long queues. Didn't think it took more than 10 minutes. Apparently it was one of the pilot airports for EES so they've been practising longer than some.

Hi All - we made it here! Can confirm for anyone in a similar situation that Mahon definitely have everything under control. Not the horror stories we are hearing from other airports!
