I fancy a wine with a taste of cherries - any suggestions? I don't know a lot about wine, so hopefully someone here has a clue!

Not sure about cherries but jam shed wine lives up to its name… very red-fruit jammy

Pinot noir often has notes of cherry.

I often stick coke in red wine, you could try cherry coke!

LabradorVibe · 21/05/2026 17:34

I'd second the suggestion of a pinot noir

OllyBJolly · 21/05/2026 17:38

Pinot noir or maybe a chianti?

Waterychocs · 21/05/2026 17:38

I'd go for a primativo ( Italy) or zinfandel (usa) - same grape and definitely has a berry/ cherry taste but not sweet. It doesn't disappoint.

TonTonMacoute · 21/05/2026 17:41

I was going to suggest Italian - Chianti or Sangiovese.

Or Spanish wine like a Monastrell Jumilla.

try lindisfarne cherry wine, voruta natural cherry wine (tesco), Lyme bay winery or English heritage. I’m now singing you don’t have to take your clothes off no no no to have a good time ah no!

The only thing to stick in red wine is spiced rum - trust me... old pirates' recipe!

I'm afraid it sounds disgusting to me, but it has made me feel like an ice cold Coke!

A Fleurie is what you want OP. Very cherry to me!

FiloPasty · 21/05/2026 22:42

I asked if a bar in San Sebastián did Sangria. The bartender looked at me with disgust and said "No, we do something much better" and made us a mix of coke and red wine with orange slices. It was "different".

Now I know what it's called, thanks @jinglejuicing 😊(and I'll know to not ask for it in future.....🤐)

Llttledrummergirls · 22/05/2026 08:05

Cherry Kirsch. I know it's not wine but yum.
