Bown ass is how I say it and how I have heard others online say it who have nicer accents than I do. Like Bonus with an a instead of a u?

I say it to rhyme with Jonas

Oh dear! I think I may be outing myself as deeply uncultured I would, and have always called it Bon - ass. It’s how I’ve heard it referred to where I live.

It sounds Latin or Italian to me… not sure how that might impact how it is pronounced though.

Bonas as in Oliver Bonas is a name. The surname Bonas is pronounced Bow-nas.

(The brand name came from the owner’s first name Oliver and his then girlfriend’s surname Bonas. The Oliver from Oliver Bonas was the man who was married to the woman who has an affair with Matt Hancock and was in those “very much not socially distanced” photos that forced Hancock to resign.
