I have to'd and fro'd on posting all day but I genuinely need some support right now.. Please let it be know this is for genuine advice not a begging post...

I've had to contact social services this morning to help me feed my children I am still waiting on them calling I've called back 3 times and they keep saying someone will call me back but the kids are now home and they still haven't called. I've had an issue with a benefit payment which has now been resolved although the payment won't be recieved until Friday. I have tried every avenue possible to no avail. I have nothing and no1. My last resort was social work and now I am sat her in tears becoz yet again they've said someone will call me back byt they've been saying that sine 9.30am.

Don't really know what I am hoping for in this post but I'm just a single mum with kids trying her best but just seem to constantly never seem to catch a break.

Can you not get to a food bank? They wont turn you away in this circumstance

I’m so sorry that you are in this position. Could you speak to a member of staff at school? Is there a food bank near to you or any charities that might be able to help you?

Is there a local food bank or community kitchen you could contact?
The local vicar might be able to help, or know someone who can.
Sikh temples offer free food to anyone- regardless of faith. Is there one near you?

Can you contact the school they can ensure your kids get fed? Download the Olio app to get some free food to tide you over until Friday? A lot of churches, mosques and Sikh temples will help with food no questions asked.

If you let us know which area you are, someone may know local charities who can help. Have you posted on your local Facebook group. They are good at recommending where to get help.

I have managed to get a foodbank voucher for the session tomorrow morning I'll drop the kids off at school and walk to the next town. The school arranged that for me thankfully. Sorry I should have mentioned that on my post

That’s not good. School might be able to signpost you to more support. Hope the weather is OK for your trip to the food bank.
