Keep me company while I await recovery?

Sat on the verge of a busy dual carriageway awaiting the recovery service. I have a flat tyre which I could do myself but it's not safe to do so, so I called it in. I am really impressed at how well cars handle these days on a flat tyre, I remember the dark ages when the steering wheel would vibrate like a bitch and you could feel the wheel wobble throughout the car.

What is going on with your day?

I hope you're behind the barrier (on the assumption that there is one).

I also hope that it's not too cold and wet and that you're warm. It's one of my great fears, breaking down on a bit of the M74 or M77 where there's no safe space behind the barrier and in the horizontal rain that Scotland is so good at.

No, just a stony run off area then a steep embankment which I have clambered up. I think they have just gone past in the opposite direction (they need to go to the next junction to turn around and come back on my side of the road). It's been pretty quick, I am impressed.

We broke down just before Christmas on the way back from a city visit. The recovery man was telling us about his db just buying a house... On a Scottish island. Next door to where my dh lived as a dc!! Small bloody world!!
