Do I owe two weeks’ rent after changing payment date?

looking for someone else’s perspective on this ..
I have just moved out of my rented property. I moved in on the 16th of the month 12 years ago and gave my months notice on the 16th of April and moved out on the 16th of may.
I paid the rent on the 16th of the month per the tenancy agreement , however a few years ago due to my pay date from work I paid the rent at the end of the month instead of the 16th .. making my payments effectively 2 weeks roughly late, still paying the full months rent . My landlord is now saying I owe 2 weeks rent . My last payment was made 30th April which is effectively the 16th April - 16th May (the day I moved out)
my landlord is disputing this and threatening to take out my deposit.
if I owe the money I will pay it but I don’t think I do.

You owe it.. so pay and be kind and thank them for your home.

Out of all the comments you’re the only one that seems to disagree . Maybe read the post properly. I was a tenant for 12 years in a property the landlord done absolutely nothing to , including repairs , gas and electric safety checks not done . I replaced carpets and decorated it. As I have said , if I owed it I would pay, but I don’t! But thanks for your comment

You are right, you are paying for the month 16th to 16th as per your tenancy agreement, all that changed was the payment date not the tenancy terms or dates. You can get clarification on this from Shelter or Citizens Advice.

Strictly speaking, if a period starts on 16th, it ends on 15th.

So one day of rent would be owed. Also a month’s notice would have to have been given by 15th but looks like the landlord hasn’t even twigged that.
