Ideas for spending my birthday with a 2 and 4 year old

It's my birthday soon and I have the day off with my 2 & 4 year old (husband will be at work). I will be doing several small things to celebrate over the weekend but it would be nice to do something on the day rather than the usual routine. My ideal day would be a spa day but that's not going to happen with the kids in tow. The weather is looking good - does anyone have any nice ideas on what I can do bearing in mind taking the kids out can be a bit like herding cats (although I'm not totally against it). Thanks in advance!

I’d take mine out for a coffee or maybe some lunch. Then maybe play in the park or the garden in the afternoon if the weather is nice? Or some kind of National Trust place or the seaside if you have either nearby.

I love the beach, so I’d go for a splash and picnic at the beach. Or if too far, a river with a little shallow beach.

I’d work out which friends with similar age children aren’t working that day and suggest we go to the park and take a cake, a bottle of wine and some treats for the DC. And then spend a lot of time explaining to all the DC that there aren’t any party bags!

I would take the children to the zoo. Preferably with my mum, or a friend without littlies!

Lovely ideas - thanks all! I’m looking up pebble beaches and hoping to find one nearby 🤞🏼 cake and a picnic sound like an excellent idea
