When do children usually stop going to holiday clubs and camps

So my child is 5 so we are a long way off this, but when he’s 16/17 I know we won’t be using holiday clubs but when does that transition happen? And does it happen all at once or do you just start sending them to fun camps only just to mix things up a bit?

so childcare usually stops around 11 years old with the expectation a child will let themselves in after school.
Clubs usually have different age limits some are 5-11 or 8-12 and there are 11+ clubs which would be upto 16 or 18.

Thanks for the info! Is it expected that you would leave your secondary school children alone in the day for the holidays then? At least some of the time?

Mine is 12 (year 7) and I’m finding this age to be tricky. He’s too old for multi activity camps but too young to just be left for days on end. His friends are all on holiday at different times so I can’t guarantee he’d do anything but sit on a screen if left to it. Luckily there are a few special interest camps he still enjoys that attract an older crowd. We’ll be using those in the summer as well as going on holiday as a family for a week.

My dd was still going to camps and holiday clubs up until she was 13yo but she hated being left on her own when I went to work. Yes

It depends on the child I think.

My son is in year 8 and will sometimes go to a couple of sports camp if a friend is going. I WFH so I am usually here but a few of his friends are left alone during the day.
