Hello - I’m afraid I have fallen down this rabbit hole and have found myself unwisely invested in this absolutely batshit situation.
for those not in the know (probs 99% of people) Katie married a random dude she met online who lives in Dubai. He’s an odd fish- he claimed to have a PhD from Cambridge although they have never heard of him.
He claims to be very rich and showed some footage of a box full of US$ cash with his name sellotaped on the lid.
He also claims to own multiple businesses but none of them seem to exist.
He also has multiple ex partners who all claim he is a scammer.
This week, he was booked to appear on daytime telly with Katie only to not show up. He sent a video of himself in Dubai airport claiming he’d missed the flight and then … disappeared. Katie says he has since sent a video of himself in the back of a van having been kidnapped!
Many people are speculating he is not real at all and an AI confection entirely constructed by Katie herself.
Honestly it’s wild. I’m totally invested and I realise this is silly. But I’m just wondering if anyone else has been following this and wants to shamelessly spectate whether this is genuine and she is indeed a victim. She is indeed very vulnerable. Or whether it’s a last ditch attempt to wring some money out of an audience that has largely moved on from her antics.
