Burgh island hotel- do the grand ballroom?

I’m headed to Burgh Island Hotel this weekend, I'm a huge Agatha Christie fan so very excited! Has anyone been? Is the grand ballroom a must? I prefer the Nettlefold menu 😆 but I don’t want to get there and feel like we are missing out.
it’s a birthday present so I’ve only just found out and obviously only have a few days to sort out evening wear … any thoughts on outfits would be helpful too!

I would say definitely do the grand ballroom. It’s part of the whole thing. It’s a bit chilly in there, so if you have a wrap, that’s a good thing.

Have a fabulous time! My favourite thing about it was walking in to be greeted by a lady who said to me “You look like a lady who would like a glass of champagne…”

Enjoy yourself 😊

Definitely do the grand ballroom. When we went the Nettlefol was all but empty. The ballroom was brilliant.

Oh, and you don’t have to wear period costume - some people wear 20s/30s clothes and that’s great fun, but lots of other people just wear glam outfits. It is a real chance to dress up, which don’t come along that often, so wear what you feel great in. There’s quite a variety amongst the guests.

Please have a wonderful time and take pictures and put them on here so I can envy your time away. Lucky you 😊

It is pretty fun to get all dressed up as that is quite rare these days, and nice to have live music too. We were only there one night and only went to the ballroom but I think you will have fun wherever you go.

Beautiful place.
Went there years ago and had great fun.
All starts with the tractor ride across the beach.......😎🌊🌞

Obviously the Poirot story Evil Under The Sun was famously filmed there (staring David Suchet) and this is a great favourite of ours but does anyone know which other Agatha Christie TV adaptation it was featured in?
Clue.... It wasn't Poirot and it was filmed earlier.😉

Joan Hickson Miss Marple?

the Body in the Libeary?

Joan Hickson correct.
Episode was Nemesis.

Burgh Island stood in for the island home of Jason Rafiel at the very beginning of the first episode.
