Serious question.

Smaller in that they are less fat but not in length, obviously.

mondaytosunday · 17/05/2026 10:42

Could do for sure. More likely if you are on the shorter size I guess. Going up or down in shoe size with weight fluctuations is not unusual at all.

DorotheaDiamond · 17/05/2026 10:42

I think so yes..lots of my shoes feel much too big (length and width)…

CDTC · 17/05/2026 10:42

I've lost 3.5 stone and they're the same size.

Error404FucksNotFound · 17/05/2026 10:42

Yes. The bones dont get smaller, obviously but a less fat foot is smaller

luckylavender · 17/05/2026 10:42

Yes

Deadringer · 17/05/2026 10:44

I wouldn't have thought so and haven't noticed my trainers getting bigger but I wore ankle boots last night that I haven't worn for months and I felt that my feet were rattling around inside them, so its possible i guess?
I have lost 3.5 stone.

My feet went up a size when I gained weight. I’ve since lost the weight but they never went back to the previous size. So many lovely shoes I had to either sell
or donate 😩

KoalaSquid · 17/05/2026 10:45

I lost 8 stone and my feet did get smaller but not a huge amount. They didn’t change length obviously, so my shoe size stayed the same. But I was wide fit in many shoes before, but now am a comfortable standard fit in all of them.

Ottersideofthebridge · 17/05/2026 10:46

I went down a size after losing 40kg.

Bagsoflifewipedout · 17/05/2026 10:47

Yes mine did, lost 5 stone. Went down a half size at least.

Comedycook · 17/05/2026 10:47

I've lost 4. 5 stones. My feet have gone from a size 5 to a size 4 and I've had to throw out/sell my old shoes as I can no longer wear them

cobalt123 · 17/05/2026 10:47

Yes

Chuffingcupboard · 17/05/2026 10:47

I lost 6 stone and feet were a bit smaller, definitely narrower and half a size.

ThirdStorm · 17/05/2026 10:47

Lost 5 stone and whilst still a 7, some shoes that were tight are much looser.

Namechangetheyarewatching · 17/05/2026 10:48

I lost 9 stone and went froma size 7 to a 5, 5 1/2

Zhu · 17/05/2026 10:48

Mine did, but they had gone up a size in pregnancy, so just back to where they were (half size difference, not full size)

ExplodingCarrots · 17/05/2026 10:49

Yeah , in my case anyway . I lost 6 stone and I went from a size 7 to a size 6.

The same thing happened to my sister!

She went up from a size 3 to 4 but never went back down when she lost the weight.

catipuss · 17/05/2026 10:50

They get less fat so you may well be able to wear a smaller size or a smaller fitting.

Judysdreamofhorses · 17/05/2026 10:52

I went up a shoe size when pregnant was always a 5 and went to a 6.
My weight has fluctuated a lot since then and I gained then lost 5 stone.
My feet are narrower but still a 6 in length.

I think your feet get bigger with age and probably with getting more flat footed, which may initially be weight related.

MiaKulper · 17/05/2026 11:06

The bones in your feet spread a bit when you are carrying extra weight e.g. when pregnant.
