What do you think of this local event?

Just seen this slightly strange advert on my local community forum:

Delicious afternoon teas being served in the Vicarage Garden at X (local church) for one day only Sunday 17 May from 3pm-6pm. Featuring home-made sandwiches, cakes, and tea. Tickets are £20 each to be booked in advance (so they can work out how much food to prepare). If the weather is bad on the day the event will be moved inside to the community suite.
Sittings are for one hour from 3-4pm, 4-5pm, and 5pm-6pm.

Would you be in any way interested in this? I can't imagine what it's for and if in aid of charity, why isn't the charity being mentioned?

The poster goes on to mention there are lots of tickets left - tbh I'm not surprised!

I would assume the money was going to the church unless otherwise specified - it costs a lot of money to maintain a church.

£20 for an afternoon tea sounds quite reasonable compared to commercial prices, although obviously that would depend on the quality, you'd take a punt on that if you weren't familiar with the baking skills in the church community.

I hope their weather forecast is better than the one round my way for tomorrow!

I'd be interested, I love a nice afternoon tea, but they could have made it more tempting by being specific about what's on offer. Scones and cream would sell it to me, not an afternoon tea without them in my opinion!

I'd want clarification on what the money was going towards. I'd imagine it would be the church but I'd still want to know for certain. I'd also do a double take at the price, £20 each is very expensive for an hour long afternoon tea.
