First family holiday next month, going to lanzarote. Children will be 11 and 8. What would you pack as entertainment for plane/ chill out times on an evening for example.

Playing cards and a book of card games. Travel games set.

The Works often have travel activity books in a zip up pouch so you have felt tips, pencils, and a book of holiday themed cards ride/plane journey stuff to do. Should be appropriate for the 8 yr old but by 11 I’d suspect might be a bit young. Cards, colouring, downloaded stuff on a tablet, cheap digital camera if they dont have phones.

We really enjoy dominoes and top trumps while travelling. But at 8 & 11, with full on busy days in the pool, beach, at attractions, they need to decompress for a bit. I would absolutely load a phone or a tablet with some series for them to watch and let them have an hour or two of screen time in the evening while you relax with a drink or a book.

Cards, a compact board game, kindle or books.

Card games like Uno and others, books, colouring books and pens, travel editions of Rummikub, ipad with downloaded Prime or Netflix shows.

We normally did a siesta after lunch where DD could do what she wanted and in the evenings we played games together.
