Letter addressed to the exec of neighbour, does this mean he has died?

I have been away with work for a few weeks and have just got home now. There is a pile of letters behind my door and one of them has been delivered to me by mistake instead of my neighbour. Say his name is James Smith..

In the address window it says 'to the exec of James Smith'. Does this mean he has passed away? he is/was a heroin user so I assume he might have overdosed. His flat is in complete darkness atm which would be unusual for him.

It's none of my business either way but I used to look after his kids sometimes and would like to post a card through for them if he has passed away.

Go to bed, it's too late for pages of speculation, just go and knock on his door tomorrow with the letter, he'll either answer or not
