Just about to scan my last item which was an apple at the supermarket self checkout, when the assistant walked over uninvited and scanned it. He then did it incorrectly and had to repeat as he did not enter the number of apple which was one.
The assistant was unwelcome ,uninvited unhelpful and he had his dirty hands all over my apple.
I am annoyed.

Maybe they have had a spate of people on the self-checkouts choosing 'cheap fruit & veg item' instead of 'actual more expensive item' and the staff have been told by management that they need to check more often.

Yes people have been known to do that. Scan as an onion when its a steak or such like

Could this be the most pointless thread ever?

No there’s been a few that could take that crown. It’d get a runners up prize though.

Worst I had was a fellow shopper behind me. Started taking my food out of my trolley to put on the conveyer belt. I asked him to please not do so. He got very annoyed saying he was only helping. Not something I needed.

My XH used to do that to people, it drove me mad.

I was always so embarrassed by it, I’d hate it if anyone did that to me.

I sympathise. Two staff once began to load my shopping into carrier bags as it came through the till. I was intending to put it all in my rucksack and had to order them to stop.
