Wigan roller rink is closing.
It is the biggest rink in the country for roller skating. It has been there for forty years and is housed in a beautiful historic building. It is an employer of teens and is very inclusive, running sessions for neurodiverse children and people from age 3-83! This is the last affordable place to go for families in the Wigan area, there is soft play and bowling but they are either expensive or not suitable for teens.
Sadly the old industrial site around the rink is being developed. The owners of the rink were promised an alternative space within the new development but the developers have gone back on this promise.
