Pregnancy hunger

Currently 10 weeks second with my second. My first is 3, nearly 4. I just wanted to check with others - does being pregnant make you extra hungry or am I just greedy?! They say you shouldn’t eat for 2 which I am trying not to do. I put on a lot of weight with my first and kind of used it as an excuse to overeat crap and lay about, but I don’t remember much of how I felt. This time, I’m trying not to let that happen and have been light weight training (safely) 3 x per week but oh my goodness the hunger!!! I’m usually okay in the day but at around 8pm, I’m starving!! Having to have another small meal so I can sleep! I just can’t ignore it, it feels like my insides are caving in. I’m just fed up - constantly needing to pee or eat all night and it’s driving me mad! Currently sat here with another small bowl of bolognaise!
Is this normal?!

Everyone is different. You only need about 300 extra calories per day. There's nothing wrong with an extra small meal at night. I'd just go for good quality nutrition for it.

I had HG and was hospitalised and yet I even had this insane hunger (that then triggered vomiting if I didn’t eat immediately!) so i ate TONS but it all kept coming back up and I lost weight but even with HG the hunger couldn’t be overcome ? I think it’s definitely a common thing to have intense hunger!

I didn’t really notice a change in appetite with baby number 1, but gosh baby number 2, I really could have eaten a scabby horse.

I prepped veggies, cubes of cheese and mini sugar free jellies to snack on, if I hadn’t have done that I would have been eating 10 bags of crisps a day.
