I'm not usually a drama queen, in fact sometimes too keen to not take up space and fit in with what everyone else wants, but there's something happening in my home town over the BH that's triggering for me and I'd rather avoid.

I just mentioned to BF that I will avoid being out in town that weekend and within an hour he's identified an event in a town a short drive away that will be fun for us, and found a decent deal on a hotel.

I was married to DH for 30 years and would have said he was a good man/husband, but he would have never done that. He'd have been happy to come with me, but I'd have had to organise it.

BF isn't always perfect (who is?) but this is lovely.

That’s lovely OP, glad you’ve met someone so kind that makes you happy.

im so confused about the title of your post tho - how does it match what you’re saying?

I totally get this. My best relationships have all started at 45+ as I simply won’t tolerate most of the shit I did in my 20s. Just staggered now with what I put up with!

In a positive way!

I made one comment and he's fixed the situation?

I read it that the op mentioned the issue and that her bf sorted the issue without her having to mention it again or having to sort it herself.

Hope you have a lovely trip away op.

Ah sorry OP, I’d read that completely wrong. How lovely and exactly what everyone deserves

(I thought you’d meant one comment and the relationship was done and I couldn’t figure out where he’d gone wrong!)
