How was your DC after tooth extraction for orthodontics?

DS14 is having two teeth out this afternoon and another two in a fortnight so he can have braces. How were your DCs afterwards? In a lot of pain? Did they go back to school next day? He is pretty stoic, but I’m feeling anxious about it. (He obviously doesn’t know that!).

My dc have had teeth out,

one was at the hospital under general and he didn’t go to school the next day for that one.

other than that usually fjne. The injections numb the mouth and if you take paracetamol/calpol afterwards it’s generally fine the next day.

Absolutely fine. She was a bit nervous beforehand, but when in the chair, she didn't even realise he had taken the tooth out as it was so quick. Back to school next day, no pain relief needed. Hope it all goes well.

Thank you both. I’m putting my game face on!

Not my child but me haha
I was 12. Had 4 out at once. Was grim but I was a brave kid haha
At school the next day. Fortunately not a PE day. Felt a bit rough but survived with paracetamol.

He was absolutely fine. 2 teeth I think. Husband was more traumatised watch the dentist hoik them out.

DD9 had 4 teeth removed in preparation for braces. She was absolutely fine after, just annoyed she wasn't allowed to go to gymnastics that evening 🤣

my daughter had 3 out and was absolutely fine once the swelling went down. I’d say her pain threshold is typically quite low but I was astonished by how brave she was. It looks pretty brutal but she took it all in her stride. Paracetamol afterwards and careful with food and drink but she barely mentioned it! Good luck!
