Went to make myself a rocket, avocado and goats cheese salad for lunch. Checked which avocados were ripe, 2 felt squishy so I was already pre-empting the inevitable brown. But no! Cut 1 open and it was perfectly light green!
Not only that but the seed came out easily, the flesh scooped out easily with skin in tact, it was creamy and delicious and the most perfect avocado I've ever had in my life!
So, I thought, let's try the next one. I wouldn't usually use 2 avocados but these were really tiny Aldi ones and as the first was so perfect I just know that the second squishy one would go bad by tomorrow.
Lo and behold, a second, perfect, light green, creamy, tasty avocado with easily-removable seed, easily-scoopable flesh, and intact skin.
However, now I have experienced avocado perfection, not just once but twice, I am very aware that this is a once-in-a-lifetime event and I now face the future of never again experiencing avocado perfection.
I should just stop buying avocados, shouldn't I?
NB - I should probably apologise for the hyperbolic thread title for such a mundane story, but I really am that easily impressed 🤷♀️
