Hey. I am 48 years old and had my last proper period aug/sept last year. Since then I have had only light bleeds monthly only when I wipe and when using a tampon just brown. TMI sorry. I have all the feelings of a period with it . I have been in peri mode for a few years now . I can't get drs app today but was just curious if this is normal ?

Hi OP. I’m 47 and started Peri at 38 my periods started getting much lighter , eventually after a year or so I was missing periods but getting all the pain and bloating associated with them . I knew what it was straight away as my grandmother finished her periods at 39 . I was devastated as had hoped for another baby my first was born when I was 37. This continued for a couple of years and I kept putting off HRT as stupidly I felt too young to be getting old ! I was getting the odd period , read an article about probiotics and fertility started on a strong multi strain probiotic periods came back normally for 3 months and conceived DD2 at almost 41 . Everything you have mentioned in my experience is normal and I started HRT at 42 . It was such a help . I take testosterone also and it is a game changer for cognitive function . Also after starting the testosterone weight was easier to manage, I’d always been slim and fit but exercise and diet weren’t giving the results compared to the effort I was putting in . Sorry for the waffle but I hope this helps . ❤️
