Vinted postage

I took a 6 month break from selling on Vinted. I have 5 star reviews.
Have just restarted selling a few things and am having an absolute nightmare with Vinted ignoring my postage settings.
I only used Yodel in the past so I could just use my local shop and not have to get in the car and drive to inpost locker, Evri etc etc in all different locations not walkable from home. I never had an issue.
Since ive started reselling, despite my settings showing Yodel & Evri ( I now also use Evri, as another shop walkable offers that) buyers are selecting DPD, Royal Mail, Inpost etc etc. None of which are convenient to me or useable when I dont have the car.
Ive queried this with Vinted and the bot tells me Vinted offers what's viable for my buyers. It tells me Evri/Yodel isnt viable for the buyer but in 1 case I messaged buyer and was told...Royal Mail was the ONLY postage option Vinted gave her. She can happily use Evri, because there's one next door to her office but Vinted does not give her the option to choose it!!
Absolutely fucking bonkers!!
Ive sold more stuff over the weekend and have every kind of postage selected by buyers. I dont have a car until Friday and tbh even if I did have the car I wont use these postage options because instead of just popping out to 1 or 2 postal hubs ive now got to go to 5 different places to drop off parcels. Who the hell has time to do that??

Ive messaged buyers explaining but not yet cancelled the orders because if I do...I get negative feedback. Ive made another complaint to Vinted. The bot tries to tell me I have these postage options available to buyers says I will get negative feedback if I cancel, so im now waiting for a human response and have sent screen shots of my postage settings page only opting for Yodel and Evri.
Has anyone else had this? Any advice?? I cant be the only seller selling multiple items not wanting to travel to lots of different locations just to post parcels.

Presumably it’s this…. (Might take a mo to attach pic)

How irritating. In the meantime - just for the ones you have sold now - can you see if there is a shop that’s drivable that does all of them? DD sells a lot on Vinted and she’s found a corner shop that is a hub for everything (bar the locker) so she does that as although it’s a drive, it’s at least one stop. Message the current buyers and say it will be delayed and tell them why?

Thank you for your informative reply.

So basically they're disregarding sellers choices to force more sales so they can rake in buyer protection £££.

Its not very rare in my case. Most items sold have labels for postal options I have disabled.

Im waiting for a reply from Vinted as to how I cancel the orders and get no negative feedback because I cant find a way of doing it. If I try to cancel using the "i" in the top right corner, it tells me that cancelling will give me negative feedback.

I will try and find a drop off shop offering g multiple providers going g forward though as you've suggested.

You can cancel but select the option ‘agreed with buyer’ and you don’t get negative feedback

From things I've seen on other social media platforms it appears that Vinted have some issues going on with postage generally at the moment, in particular defaulting items, even if medium size postage is selected, to Royal Mail's large letter.

Cotswoldmama · 11/05/2026 20:06

Yeah I find this a lot. What is odd is occasionally when I cancel and tell the buyer I only do Inpost, they tell me that's what they'd prefer but didn't have the option!

acourtofmistandfury · 11/05/2026 20:07

You get the option to cancel if they’ve used something that you’ve got turned off

Can they use something you’ve turned off tho? I didn’t think it would show as an option?

Vinted’s postage has been a shambles for the last couple of days. It does sometimes let buyers choose a postage option which you’ve disabled, but it seems worse at the moment. I’ve had buyers tell me they can only see Royal Mail large letter (despite me having that option disabled and other options available). I hope they sort it soon. I don’t know why on earth they let buyers choose a disabled option. I always cancel, because there’s a reason I’ve disabled them! Apparently you don’t get negative feedback if you cancel because they’ve chosen a disabled postage option.

Yes, sometimes! It’s annoying.

Another76543 · 11/05/2026 20:16

Check your settings. I discovered that Vinted had enabled DHL without me knowing. They seem to randomly re-enable postage options where a seller has turned them off.

That would be very annoying I’ve not had that myself!

I’ve only had it a couple of times before, but I’ve had it twice today with the Royal Mail large letter. Apparently loads of people are having the same issue.

Cat3rpillar7 · 11/05/2026 20:22

I've gone from having all no printer inpost (my preference) to suddenly having inpost but you have to print the label. I can't see that my settings have changed. It's so much more inconvenient having to find somewhere to print.

I’ll have to keep checking this x

Vinted postage options are meaningless, I find! I have Evri, Yodel and Relay not selected as they are notoriously unreliable (at least in my area), with parcels delayed or missing as a frequent issue. However, Evri in particular keeps getting selected as presumably it’s what the buyer wants. Yesterday I sold four items and experienced problems with the shipping label not opening for Royal
Mail. In liaise with the buyer I had to cancel the order twice and eventually after we both enabled every delivery option the order went through - with Evri! I’ve since disabled the companies I prefer not to use - not that it seems to make any difference!
I think, from lots of experience it’s worth just liaising closely with buyers or sellers so you can overcome any difficulties together.

FattyFatFuck · Yesterday 06:55

I have everything I dont want to use unelected in my settings.
I sent screenshot of my postage preference page and Vinted tell me that they offer a different method you havnt selected based on buyers area, and what's available to buyer. I asked but what if its not available for seller...even with a Vinted human we just went around in circles.
The sceptic in me thinks this is to push more sales or even that they have agreed a " preferred option" agreement with certain providers. It will come down to ££££. I dont think its a glitch, its something Vinted have done to increase £££ for them. Another bizarre decision made by whichever nut job is currently in charge of Vinted UK, after the sizing change debacle.

Anyway, I refuse to use any postage method I havnt selected and will just keep cancelling orders assuming I dont get negative feedback.
Its a real faff to re-upload items once cancelled. I have to remember to screenshot the listing so I can respond without having to take new pics as I always delete the pics off my phone once item listed.

I've done a thread in S&B on this. I have Inpost only switched on; small size being 8cm deep. I've had to squeeze some leggings into an A4 envelope this week, as Vinted let someone buy them as a RM Large Letter - and I had to print the label then drive to a locker. Inpost is digital labels and walkable.
I'm cancelling the order next time.
