How many chipolatas would you eat for dinner?

What kind the long but thin ones or the short and thin ones? The standard sausage length ones 3 maybe 4 if I was really hungry in the same way I'd have 2 thick sausages or maybe 3 if I was really hungry. We do tend to get ours from the butcher though and they are very meaty

Harhar · 10/05/2026 18:35

What size and what are we having them with?

TheGirlWhoLived · 10/05/2026 18:36

4 is pretty standard, in something like giant Yorkshires with mash. I’d also plan 4 each in a sausage pasta but then if they are just with mash or chips then possibly 6?
I don’t really like the sound of five

user2848502016 · 10/05/2026 18:41

3-4

mumofoneAloneandwell · 10/05/2026 18:44

Ltb, you deserve a proper sausage x

pixiedust79 · 10/05/2026 18:45

They’re less than half the size of a regular sausage and I could easily eat 2-3 of those so 4-6 seems perfectly reasonable.

These!

They are normal sausage length. Having them with a normal carb and veg portion.

I’d have 2 maybe 2.5. But I’m trying to lose weight.

Callmeback · 10/05/2026 18:53
  1. 103 if they were wrapped in bacon.
DrMadelineMaxwell · 10/05/2026 18:53

4, wrapped in bacon with some cauliflower cheese on the side.

lifeisgoodrightnow · 10/05/2026 18:53

Zero- foul things

Harhar · 10/05/2026 18:54

I’d cook 3 for me, put 2 on my plate, then eat the last one the minute my plate was finished.

ComtesseDeSpair · 10/05/2026 19:00

I mean, I suppose as many as I wanted, depending on how hungry I was feeling. But it’s all context dependent. If there are 12 in the pack and five of you eating dinner it’s probably not going to fly if you put six on your own plate.

FruityFrog · 10/05/2026 19:32

I was shocked to read that the portion size on the packet recommends 2!

It’ll be based on their nutritional value: the fat and salt content are fairly high, and new Healthy Food Standards mean stricter guidance for manufacturers and retailers on how they label products and advertise to consumers about recommended intake. A consumer can choose to eat as many as they like, but the manufacturer has to make you aware that due to the nutritional profile, they recommend you only eat two.

tiramisugelato · 10/05/2026 20:05

I'd cook them all, eat two with dinner and then have another one or two cold from the fridge later, and save the rest for a chipolata sarnie the next day Grin
