Nursery funding in England

Hello, I’ve just applied for nursery funding and I’m so confused. Our son is 2 years old and started nursery last month. At the time, we weren’t eligible for nursery funding as I wasn’t making the required £203 a week but I’ve now been put on salary and both me & my partner will be making over that amount each week now so I’ve applied.

I’m just wondering what’s next? All the info online seems pretty vague so would be helpful to hear it from someone who’s been through the process already. Mostly curious to know what happens next, when we find out if we’re eligible, when the funding starts & how much it usually is etc?

Sorry if I sound incredibly thick 🥴 Thanks!

If you’re found to be eligible you will receive an 11 digit code to give to your childcare provider.
However, the funded hours won’t start until September if you don’t yet have your code. The deadline for summer term funding was the end of March.
Once you get your code you must reconfirm your details on your childcare account every three months for it to remain valid. So if your code is issued this month you will need to do this in August or you won’t be able to use it from September.

@Snozzlemaid I’ve just checked and I’ve received the code already so that’s a huge relief! I wasn’t aware of any term deadlines so that’s a bit unfortunate but atleast we know we’ll have the funding from September. Thank you for the info! 😁
