Considering a family move to Leeds for my husband's new job

Hi all.
I hope everyone is well and happy.
My husband has had a job opportunity come up but it means relocating to Leeds.
We have two children age 7 (Yr3) & 10 (Yr5).
We are all very happy where we live now-Everyone one except my husband. He feels trapped in his job.
My question is we have two options-
Stay here while he relocates and travels back when he can.
Or we move to Leeds. What is Leeds like to live as a place?Schools, nightlife, things for families to do?
The industry my husband works in isn’t always secure.
Its a big decision for us all.
Thank you so much for reading.

Leeds and its surrounding area is great. Plenty of good schools, beautiful countryside and pretty good public transport. It’s a very long time since my Leeds nightlife days, but there are many bars, clubs, restaurants and music venues.

Where would you be locating from?

It's a very big, thriving city now. So it has everything. Because its quite compact, compared with say, Birmingham, travel isn't too bad. The people are friendly. Lots of employment opportunities. That means house prices are high.

The worst thing about Leeds is the fairly bad hospitals, but at least you never have to travel far to reach one. And there are a couple of good private hospitals. It always feels like its a long way from the seaside compared to most other British cities, but it's actually only 90mins or so to the coast.

I've lived in Birmingham and Bristol and find Leeds a much, much nicer place to live.
