So bloody clumsy and it’s getting worse

Is anyone else just so fucking clumsy? I’ve always been a bit clumsy like walking into walls and falling over things and knocking things over but it’s getting so much worse. We had family over today and had a glass of Prosecco with some cake. My husband and I have lovely engraved champagne flutes we bought when we got married. I went to wash up later and leaned over to pick up a plate for the dishwasher and obviously knocked over one glass. I went to grab it and in the process knocked the second one over as well. Both have smashed. We can’t replace them and I’m gutted. Then 10 minutes later I was putting the normal glasses in the cupboard and somehow caught another glass with my hand on the way back and that one fell out and smashed all over the floor. I can’t even blame alcohol as I had one glass of Prosecco and that’s it. I feel like I’m doing this constantly these days. Dropping things. Falling over things. Smashing things. My husband keeps telling me not to worry and everyone does it but I don’t think they do!! Not like this. Is anyone else like this? Does it get worse with age or is it just me??

I am very much like this too OP. It's worse when I'm trying to do something quickly (which is most of the time!).

Join the club! I'm covered in bruises constantly, walking into things, dropping things on my foot, shutting my hand in the door, you name it.

I would wonder if something is going on medically. Worth a visit to the GP?

Dontgoforward · 09/05/2026 21:03

Yeah! Always been a bit of a door handle bumper and walking into door frames/misjudging my movements kind of clumsy but now I have times where I try to grab things and just don't grip fast/hard enough so just slide through my hand. I don't notice myself dropping things either til it happens so my reactions are generally a bit slower, I struggle to get my words out and I can't recall words a lot (which is actually worse than the dropping/clumsiness). My GP just put it down to stress

I would say go visit your GP if you’re concerned but I’m 100% in this camp too. I’m constantly burning myself on the oven, I have bruises I can’t account for as I’m always bumping into something, constantly drop my phone, regularly smash or chip plates, glasses & mugs (much better now we have a dish washer) but you are not alone.
