I've been gifted a spa trip today. Never done it before. I have afternoon access to the ' relaxation areas' and a massage booked at 2.

When do you think i should turn up? What should I expect? Ì take my swimming costume for the steam room etc right? Do I wear that for the massage?

Please be kind! Am a novice!

Sometimes you might have a fixed duration you can access the pool/relaxation area etc. it also depends on how many different rooms/options there are.

My gym offers spa days. There is a pool, sauna and steam room. If I were there I’d probably spend 1-2h there beforehand max.

Some spas I’ve been to have 7+ different rooms/experiences and so I could spend a whole day there.

They will tell you what to do when you arrive (defo plan for pool etc before massage). I have had experiences where going in a damp swimming costume wasn’t an issue, they gave extra towels, but I’ve also been where they ask you not to be in wet clothing.

Hope you have a lovely day, I’m extremely jealous!

You will need a swimsuit for the pool/sauna room but massage is usually just knickers if it’s a full body. Whenever I’ve had one it’s all very discreet the masseuse will leave the room as you get undressed lay on the table and cover with a towel, then they just uncover boys as they are working their way from shoulders down or whatever. Then they leave again to get covered back up. If it’s a spa afternoon you’ll either be provided robes or have the option to hire them so you can go from pool to sauna and to treatments or refreshments covered up a bit rather than just wandering around in a swimsuit.

There's no pool which is a shame but there are steam rooms/ saunas.
I will my cossie and a couple of pairs of clean knickers then!
They provide robes.
Thank you so much! I'm going to aim to arrive about 1
