I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my conservatory spot, while the cats birdwatch. It's much nicer in here when there are no random boxes yet to go in storage!

Dd1's up and about in London already - on her way to Coal Drops Yard for a record fair. She has her heart set on 2 new vinyls. And dd2's up and out here! She's off to two revision sessions at school, starting at 9 but meeting friends on the way.

My plan for the day is to finish painting in here - there's one corner I couldn't get to, so that's first on the list. Then a quick clean and mop. I have friends coming for drinks and takeaway early evening so want it to be nice 😊. I'll tidy and mop the kitchen and clean the bathroom too. Later on, I'll nip to Lidl for a few snacks & that'll be it, I think.

The four of us are well overdue a catch up & it's nice to be able to do it here! I avoided people round at the old place.

They'll probably leave around ten, so then it'll be bed time for me at least...probably not the girls 💤.

What about all of you? 🙂

Good afternoon all,

It's continued to be a stressful week here. Dear uncle passed away Monday morning, but we didn't learn of it until Monday night. Dear mother came down with suspected food poisoning on Tuesday, and is now in hospital with a bowel obstruction. Admitted late last night. Typically, she's 2 hours away, but I'll go over tomorrow for afternoon visiting and see for myself. That'll be the whole day gone.
I've spent today fretting (as you do). Managed to get out early for petrol and a small fresh food shop (it's going to be a freezer tea sort of week I feel!), and have just spent the rest of today thus far pottering and trying to keep busy.

What an absolute 'mare! As these things aways are.

Hi @lucysmam and everyone else, I’m late to the thread again this week! Was up by 6 as usual (damn perimenopause), had a coffee and some breakfast and fed the cat. Went to parkrun at 9, but had a fall halfway through, wasn’t too badly injured but cut both hands and my elbow and shoulder, was quite a bit of blood so had to get cleaned up by the first aider and came home. Felt fine after that so went out again at 12 for my fitness fiesta class, then walked back through the park, stopped off for an iced coffee in the sunshine (beautiful day here today)! Then came home. My new running shoes were delivered right on cue - hopefully they will reduce the risk of any future falls, my current ones are a bit old and worn out. Did a bit of housework, now just waiting for the Tesco delivery. Have the house to myself as DD is staying with my mum. Will have salmon, potatoes and veg for dinner, and relax in front of the tv.

Sorry for your loss @zingally and hope your mum makes a full recovery Flowers

Oops! Better late than never I guess?
Sorry @lucysmam , completely forgot to look out for you earlier.
I’ve done a zoom art class for 5 hours, drunk far too much tea and eaten poorly so I now have rampant gut ache 😵‍💫🥺, serves me right.
The washing has dried nicely on the line, there’s a pile of ironing for tomorrow morning, the dogs are walked, fed and snoozing- tiddler had to have a bath after her 7am walk, DH let her roll in fox sh1t….🤢🤮 Needless to say he didn’t bath her.
Apart from that nothing exciting happening here; it’s DGS1’s birthday today, I’m looking forward to seeing the photos of his ‘Party in the Park’ later. He’s 10 and I can remember carrying him home from hospital 😍. Time goes so fast….

Hi @lucysmam & everyone - late to the party. It’s been a busy day! Awake with DH around 6 & was up not long after. Dropped DD17 to the station after yet another heated discussion about money. Getting fed up of it tbh. Popped a few more bits on Vinted plus new photos of existing items that DH has ironed. Sold a Laura Ashley coat that’s been on there ages & a pretty cami that was only uploaded today. Worked 4 hours which actually wasn’t too busy for a Saturday. I’ve recently started doing things out of my comfort zone as our systems are changing & surprisingly I’m finding myself quite enjoying the challenge. I was getting quite complacent & it’s good to learn new skills, especially at my grand old age!
Done a few loads of washing & hung some of it out. Nice sunny day here although still flippin’ cold this morning. About to hoover the rabbit poo up - oh the joys! Popped to Tescos after work for a loaf & may have bought chocolate (4 pack of Snickers for me, fruit & nut for DH). DD & her GF are due back a little after 7. They will have eaten whilst out. DH & I are having scampi, chips & peas. Dishwasher needs doing. I’m really tired from a long drive yesterday & a very late night so will be in bed early.

Ah I missed this thread this morning; but I have had a day worthy of this thread 🤣

I’ve been for a walk, read an actual printed magazine, embroidered a daisy picture, had a long bath and started a new book.

It’s been lovely! Hope you have all enjoyed.
