I'm shocked at how little some people eat. Had to check i wasn't on the dieting page!

I think people should say if they are on WLI or not. Makes a difference to your appetite!!

Tonissister · 13/05/2026 22:51

B: slice of rye bread with poached egg

L: leftover pasta with puttanesca sauce, a pear

D: veg curry with brown rice; blueberry mousse

S: a chocolate biscuit, a chunk of halva

tea, coffee, small glass of white wine, can of alcohol free beer

That's pretty good for me. I seem to eat twice as much as anyone else on these threads.

BejamBabe · 13/05/2026 22:52

One slice of toasted sourdough with peanut butter and a banana.
An apple (mid morning snack)
A hummus sandwich (sliced bread) with salad and a quarter of an avocado
A satsuma (afternoon snack)
A raw carrot (starving when I got in from work)
Small jacket potato with a third of a can of beans, and rather more cheese and butter than I planned (trying to lose a few pounds), served with broccoli.
Two (naughty) squares of fudge.

patooties · 13/05/2026 22:52

I’ve had a terrible couple of days.
yesterday I had a pastel de nata and a latte and a bagel on a train.
a 5 guys cheeseburger and chips for lunch.
dinner was ham hock and picallili - lamb and veg and pannacotta.

i had a full Scottish breakfast this morning, salmon and ricotta quiche and salad for lunch. Dinner was a twix and a small tube of Pringles.

i was travelling / working. Could’ve made better decisions though 🤣

This thread is actually faintly embarrassing when you think about famine in some countries. So much food ...😬

Don’t be silly.

Tbf most of the posts on here would have you believe women survive on a handful of seeds, some Greek yoghurt and half a falafel (with a massive salad natch)

HoraceCope · 14/05/2026 06:16

berries, yoghurt and granola
bag of popcorn
humous and salad sandwich

What an odd comment. How on earth is it embarassing. People shouldn’t have poor nutrition simply as poverty or famine exists.

I don 't know. I didn't mean to make an odd comment, it just suddenly struck me how plentiful food is in our corner of the world. Strawberries and bananas from different climates all on the same day etc.

I suppose it was for me just one of those flash of perspective moments - which I don't think is such a bad thing.

Anyway, yesterday I had:

Greek yoghurt, raspberries and almonds
seeded sourdough with smoked salmon, avocado and tzatziki
grilled seabass with roasted baby potatoes, asparagus and roasted cherry tomatoes.

It’s fine to have a flash of perspective, but maybe it would have been better to extend that perspective into not trying to shame people.

mondaytosunday · 14/05/2026 10:14

To early yet today but yesterday (yikes if I’m honest it was not a good day - my son is visiting who can eat the contents of a mini Tesco as he’s 22 and plays a lot of sport).
Breakfast was: toast with honey. Not my usual egg and smoked salmon!
Lunch was chicken salad and one of those NY cheesey pretzels from Lidl (I’ve got to stop going there).
Dinner (here it comes): started well with a Hello Fresh perfectly portioned pork and noodle stir fry with extra veg. Then I had a brownie (from Lidls). Then I had one of those cheesy twist pastries. Then my son gave me (unasked for but I’m not going to say no) a glass of wine. Then another. Oh and I think I had a fun size Milky Way bar at some point during the day 😬. Actually that’s not as bad as the day before - but let’s not go there….

Ok apologies. It wasn't meant as shaming. It was just a tired observation made before bed. I was thinking of the phrase an "embarrassment of riches" rather than trying to target anyone.

I've listed two days meals myself and didn't see it as shaming anyone.
