Tidy boilers

I've started watching Auf Wiedersehen Pet. I never saw the original, as I was too young. Up to series 2, finding it funny but of its time, and have joined the Facebook group. Wishing I hadn't. The admin (male) posts pictures of the female actors and cue lots of comments "Tidy boilers". From men. A phrase I have never come across but it has to be sexist and offensive, surely? I even googled it and was given lots of options to contact people to fix my boiler!

It's a phrase said by Oz.
Surprised you haven't realised that if you are watching it and have joined the FB group?

Loved it at the time and still watch it today. Have all the series on DVD so no edited versions for today's audience.

Oz is certainly the most uncouth character so it is exactly the sort of thing you would expect him to say.
Don't recall it being uttered by any of the others.

Always loved the music.
Title tracks from S1 wer a bit of a hit.
Still have both full soundtracks on vinyl.

@Nourishinghandcream It must have passed me by, but that explains it, mind you, I need subtitles to understand anything Oz says.

TBH I think it is in S2 that he comes out with it more often (can't immediately bring to mind him saying it in S1).
The most memorable time in S2 is when he says it to Ally Frazer about (Ally's) girlfriend Vikki, the look on Ally's face shows that if anyone else had said it, they would immediately regret it but Oz is a bit intimidating!

The last episode I saw was Wayne having shagged the landlord's daughter and Oz headbutting that Baz character. I'll watch out for it!
