When to start pill to delay period

My dd has been prescribed the combined pill to lighten and give some control over her periods. Picking up prescription tomorrow. She's due her period on Sunday (but often is early or late) and ideally sheddelay it as she's camping this weekend.
If she starts it tomorrow, Thursday, will her period be delayed? She doesn't need this for contraception , she is not sexually active, so no reason to wait til day 1 of her period to start it.

It takes a full cycle before you can skip the 7 placebos and start a new pack to delay a period.

Can she get Tranexamic acide prescribed tomorrow? as that works really quickly to reduce bleeding heaviness and is taken as soon as the period bleeding starts.

You cannot call and ask in the morning? Or do a teleconsult? Then collect later that morning?
It would be in addition to the pill, not instead of the pill.

Thanks, but no, she's leaving at 9:30. Fingers crossed it'll be late this month. She'll start the pill anyway, won't do any harm

The blood/tissue has already formed by now so its too late to have any impact this month.

Look at the instructions on the pack. When I have taken the pill, the instructions have been to start the first month's pack on the first day of your next period, after that you can run two packs together to delay the bleeding between packs. It may vary between different makes though.
