Favourite laundry products for keeping clothes smelling fresh for longer

What’s your favourite laundry products? What makes your laundry smell nice for longer?

Ariel cold wash gel or pods, even clothes put away last year still smell nice and fresh. I disciplined it in lockdown as it was all I could get and I've been using it every since,gets everything clean.

Persil non-bio or Fairy non-bio capsules plus Comfort fabric conditioner.

I normally use non-bio powder. However, I noticed that when I buy second hand clothes on eBay, sometimes they arrive smelling nice (maybe a little strong). Then I realised what it was - they must be using bio capsules.

I used Ariel 4InOne Pods and the clothes came out smelling like that. This is biological laundry detergent, so harsher on clothes but good for using on bedsheets as it is stronger in removing body oils and smells.

I don't use fabric conditioner. I think they actually damage fabric, especially towels.

I’ve found that fabric conditioner can contribute to unpleasant smells. I now use a quarter tablet of laundry water softener instead of conditioner and it’s helped massively.

Oh really? My washing machine came with specific instructions not to use powdered detergent. Which is also annoying as powder is usually more reasonably priced too.

Conditioner is unnecessary imo. The scent is so chemical and really bad for the environment.
