Does anyone use a flexi rail season ticket?

If you use a flexi rail season ticket (8 in 28 days), what do you do in practice when your trains are cancelled and you can't travel?

Do you activate your ticket and claim compensation? Not activate your ticket and keep it for another day? Do something else?

I'm new to the flexi ticket and confused. I think I've probably cocked up by not activating the ticket on days the trains have been buggered, because now I've run out of future days I can use it and presumably I can't get compensation if I haven't activated it?

TIA

I use flexi.

I travel three days a week into office, so always use up the 8 tickets and buy another batch mid-month. Therefore rarely run out of days of use.

However, yes, activate the ticket and then claim the compensation. I’m on Greater Anglia and the compensation system is very easy to use. You can’t get compensation for inactivated tickets.
