Does he need a letter of parental consent at 16?
DS is going on a trip with a friend group to Spain for a shared interest. He is the youngest at 16, the others range from 18 - 40. There are 7 of them travelling.
Someone in the group thinks he needs a letter of consent from me to travel without a parent.
Google says he may need one depending on the airline.
Does anyone have experience of this? I thought 16 would be fine to fly unaccompanied. If I need a letter Does it have to be drawn up by a solicitor or can I just write one?
My eldest flew alone at the same age with no issues but this was 10+ years ago so things may have changed i suppose.

I printed one off the internet signed it and sent DD off with friends parents. He’s not flying alone - he’s with a group.

My 16 yo flies alone all the time (once a month) and has never had an issue.
