Is Mumsnet now being promoted in America?

Recently there seems to be lots of threads now that have been started by people living in America. Or comments about guidelines/laws and the discussion gets very confusing as the poster is quoting American guidelines eg the thread on ways to make formula bottles.

I'm just curious if this is to do with the rumours that Mumsnet is being sold to an American company?

Yes there does seem to be a lot of Americans on here. I remember that there's always been a few and a few Brits living in the US but it seems a lot more now.

I wonder if a lot of posts are AI?

Yes always been lots of Brits who now live in America.

But they would understand it was mainly a UK forum and so explain that.

Now it seems so many threads are confusing and derailed as the fact the poster is American and has always lived in America is missed until there's been 4 pages of advice and suggestions...but none of them are relevant.

Are Mumsnet now pushing the site in America to make more money?

I don't think it is being promoted, no.

There are a lot of British expats all over the world who use MN, and once search engines pick things up, it brings international people in to the forum. The more Americans find it and use it, the more likely it is to be found again. Nothing wrong with it, and it is often easy to tell as a lot of posts are very late in the evening here and go on to about 4am. Rarely do they ever post in UK mornings, because they are still in bed.
