It’s our first time flying from Manchester terminal 2.
Our flight is middle of next month at 10.20 am to cancun.
We will have luggage to check in.
We will of had breakfast at the hotel (staying at the radisson blu at airport )
What time would you get to airport for?

Whatever they'd advised on the instructions, but I'd leave plenty of time, Manchester is chaotic.

Honestly from the raddison I would go with 2 hrs.
plenty of time to check in and get through security.

2 hours although it depends who you’re flying with. Some queues are huge. Others are ok. I’ve never booked an airport lounge there as you rarely have time to use it. But I’ve always arrived 2 hours before and it’s not been an issue.

I usually do 3 hours for long haul and 2 hours for short to medium. I think that used to be the general advice. I’ve not once missed a flight. If anything I’m always too early and have a lot of time to spare.

Whatever time the airline recommends. If you’re staying close by see if there is the option to check your luggage in the night before, that may save some time but Manchester can be very busy so I wouldn’t bank on having loads of time free

notacooldad · 04/05/2026 21:07

I'd be at the check in desk for around 08:30hrs.

Does your airline allow Twilight luggage drop? These days I would be at check in desk before it opens ( generally 2 hours ) if Twilight is available it’s much easier as you just stroll through with your hand baggage.

We went to Cancun from Manchester in the Easter holidays. Got there 3 hours before the flight and we had dropped our bags and were through security in 30 mins. Manchester is our local airport, I fly often for work and I’ve never found it to be chaotic

2 hours before. Our last holiday we got there an hour and 15 mins before, there was queues but once we were through we boarded 15 mins later. So much better than hanging around. Always done 2 hours, go twice a year and never missed a flight. Always been sat around waiting

reachoutandtouch · 04/05/2026 21:11

I fly from there regularly and two hours has always been fine.

I've never found it to be chaotic.

T2 has new security scanners, no more putting things in bags. Security queues are virtually non existent in the last year. I leave 2 hours, maybe slightly less.
