Birmingham to where for seaside short break?

We’d like to take our elderly relative who wants to see the sea for a short break (3 nights) in late spring/early summer. Where can we go? Needs to be not too long a train journey - around 3- 3 1/2 hours max, nice town with beach (likes a mooch in a market and second hand shops) with cafes.
Will need an Air B n b that sleeps 5 adults or premier Inn type hotel or normal B n B.

I was thinking Lytham St Anne’s but have never been there.
Any other suggestions?

North Wales has lovely beaches. Barmouth probably isn’t quite the kind of seaside town you have in mind but the train journey is just over 31/2 hours. Plenty of accommodation in and around Barmouth.

Weston-super-Mare is the closest according to Google. I'd go for north Wales, it's absolutely gorgeous.

Swansea area of the coast is lovely and Mumbles may work for you.

West Wales 😍
New Quay
Aberaeron
Llangrannog

So many options and beautiful Airbnbs. We’ve stayed in lots.

Clevedon. Your elderly relative will love it

Is she a fan of Gavin and Stacey? Barry Island is a possibility.

Llandudno?

That was my immediate thought as well...
It's also the sort of place where you may well find you can get long weekend breaks by coach if you don't want to organise it all yourself.

Thanks for the tips, Llandudno might work well so will explore that option.
