Children’s smart watch?

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could recommend me some children’s smart watches? I was pretty set on the Xplora one but then saw the reviews on trustpilot….
The features I need are:

  • Tracking
  • The ability to receive and send messages from SELECTED contacts
  • NO Internet browsing
This is as an alternative to a smart phone for DD starting secondary school in a few months. Ideally it would be great if there was an app I could view messages too but not necessarily a deal breaker.

I’ve never heard of Kidsnav or Imoo.
Imoo has 2.9* on trustpilot so I think I’m a bit put off that. Kidsnav is 4.5. I wonder if the pay as you go sim included would end up costing a lot though and then finding no way to contact if run out of credit, I wonder if it can be changed to a contract EE sim. I’d be very interested to hear what you think of it once it’s arrived @Blueskies121 I’d also like to know what the friend making feature is… it sounds like it could be a bit dangerous….

I hadn't checked Trust Pilot. Wish I'd started a thread now myself.

Not sure about other watches but I put a Giff Gaff Sim in the imoo on a low rolling SIM only contract. I figured the watch might be an ok interim and eventually the SIM could go into a phone.

I like that it's waterproof and is ok as a watch. But it does seem to be prone to overheating. The app tells me when the watch gets hot. So you can't do
really long calls.

I've just started a thread myself as I have an Xplora subscription which is paid monthly but as my dd no longer uses the watch I am trying to cancel it. Well - there doesn't seem to be any way to cancel it anywhere with Xplora. So be careful.

Can you just cancel your direct debit?
