What do you do on a Saturday night if you don't drink alcohol?

Been drinking on a Saturday night for years now and it's a habit I'm trying to break. I already do plenty of other things every other night such as reading, driving, watching a film, walking, take away etc. Obviously I can do these things on a Saturday night too but I'm trying to think of something new so it feels a bit more of a novelty for a while.

I'm not very sociable so I can't be arsed to dress up or meet friends.

Any ideas?

I just do the same things I'd do if I was drinking alcohol - go out with friends, get a takeaway, watch a film, take the dog out and go to the beach, stay home and chill out etc.

I sometimes sit in my hot tub with my current boyfriend drinking cocktails and listening to music but you could have non alcoholic drinks

Take up some kind of hobby? Saturday night is Pottery Night. Or Jigsaw night. Or learning to do Calligraphy/speak Italian/make candles?

Movie night with giant wotsits here. CBA with movies normally.

Cook yourself a fancy meal, lay the table and light a candle?

Bake?

Smoke weed.

Exactly the same as when I did drink, but without the fear, a headache and lethargy the next day. Drinking shouldn’t be an event in itself, once it becomes that it’s time to rethink your approach.

Depending what DW is watching
Mumsnet or read a book don't watch much TV now.

My sense of taste has gone pear shaped so booze doesn't taste like it used to. I've mostly swapped it for really good quality chocolate (the good stuff isn't quite as moreish).

Yoga video and a hot bath.

It’s easy to say just the same things as you do when drinking, but if you associate that with alcohol, you need to try and break that association. I’ve been alcohol free nearly 5 years now, so I don’t ever think about having a drink. But when I first quit drinking, I couldn’t sit and watch tv in the evenings as I associated that with alcohol. I can now, but not in the beginning.

anyway OP. I used to do things like jigsaw puzzles, puzzle books, diamond art. Gym or swim.

Read, watch tv or YouTube, go for a walk, out for a meal (no alcohol), have family over (no alcohol), play board games with kids, cinema, theatre. have a bath and read a magazine, Mumsnet etc
