Posting here because I know maternity care is something that impacts many of us--the NMC have a plan to fix it, and it's extending the degree by a year, and requiring student midwives to record 40 'holistic assessments' of women who have vaginal births, as a new requirement for qualification.
There's a public consultation open if anybody wants to share their feelings about whether this will correct the issues that have been repeatedly reported on nationwide about missed illness and deterioration in women and babies.
This is a throwaway name but I am a real mumsnet poster. I just didn't want this to get pushed through by the NMC without comment by the women who receive and deliver maternity care.
