Anyone been for a stayover? Thinking of booking for DH birthday. We like spas, like good food and want a relaxing day.

It's lovely but quite expensive for what you get. The surroundings and buildings are beautiful. Spa treatments good but you need to book these in advance. Food is restaurant quality and bedrooms comfortable. Definitely a place to go as a treat!

Yes I had reckoned anything like this is bit overpriced but looks nice

Love it! I have been lots of times for the day but not to stay, although my friend goes every year for her birthday. Have a look at ragdale hall too. That is also very nice

Ragdale is near me and been previously and it's abit too 'health farmy' for me! ☺️

Champneys aswell didnt like, again too healthy...no salt on tables, food wasnt great, and was left in reception on arrival for 20 mins without an apology.

I didn’t like champneys either! I thought the food was crap and the place needed some serious upgrade.

this doesn’t work for a hotel stay, as its day spa only, but Eden hall is beautiful. I like it better than hoar cross. It’s the sister spa.

you could maybe stay locally?

OrigamiOwls · 29/04/2026 22:23

I loved our stay!
Admittedly it was a gift, so I'm not sure about the cost, but we had an amazing stay

I get a Black Friday deal with 2 friends, so we get a triple room, sleepover and spa day including a treatment. Have done this for the last few years- it’s a good deal ❤️. Food is really good, not massive portions - I thought enough though. Eat as much as you want buffet breakfast - and some did! Drinks are expensive, so bring your own to drink in your room. Could see why people brought cool bags the first time I went.

Have also done Eden Hall ( part of the same group) this is a day spa. I think Hoar Cross is better value for money. HTH

Was ok but think Manor House alsagar is a much better vibe and way better outside area. Also like moddershall oaks.

We got gifted a day there, the food was heavenly, we had the steam and staunas to ourselves, I think it was a quieter day, like I say it was a gift. Had the most fabulous day for free.
