Filofax/planning people, do any of you have one of these, and if so, what do you use it for?

I’ve moved from being a Filofax/planner addict to a more digital note taking approach over the last few years. However, I’m now moving from an office based role to a more on-the-road journalism related job, and I’m wondering if I need to go back to paper note taking, or at least some kind of hybrid approach.

While clearing out my old office, I found this lovely, albeit bulky, a4 zipped folio with handle that I bought years ago with the intention of using it for work (though I never used it at all).

I’m wondering if there is a place for it in my new working life, or if I’m just hanging on to it for the sake of it.

I guess I could use it on the road for taking notes, and also storing my iPad, which I sometimes use for digital note taking, but it is quite bulky to lug around.

I still use my A5 one but I love stationery. I use it as a weekly planner, for shopping lists, birthdays, appointments and taking notes. DH thinks I’m weird though 🤣

Yeah I have a few A5s that have gone into disuse that I used to love! I have 1 zipped black one in particular that I carried for years instead of a handbag.

My calendar has definitely moved to 100% digital now, but I do still long for the simplicity of a paper todo or shopping list!

I used one of those for years when I had a job where I worked from my car driving all over. I found it recently and am going to use it for my kiln firing schedules and notes.

That is a thing of beauty. It looks ideal for what you're after. I'm jealous TBH because I've moved completely digital - note taking, action planning, diary - because its so much easier for my job.

One of my greatest pleasures each year was buying a new diary and filling it out with my colour coordinated stickers and highlighters. Sigh.

Yes, I still use my A5 Filofax for work. It is outdated now, but I love it. Still like to see paper based notes, diary etc.

I also like to have a paper based back up in case my lap top/ mobile goes down and I cannot get a signal.

I had my first Filofax when I started working in 1989!

while I loved my Filofax, the move to it on my laptop was a revelation and now I use Microsoft outlook and other apps.

would never go back to a paper based system.
