How long do you spend in the hairdresser?

I got my half head highlights done yesterday. Foils, shoulder length hair, washed, trimmed, blowed dried and curled with straighteners. I was in there four hours.

I suspect that it’s taking so long because she leaves me with the bleach on my hair and then deals with another client every time. She used to put a ring heater on my head and wash the bleach off as soon as it pinged, but she has fewer staff now and I feel I’m being left for longer than necessary. This is annoying because of the time wasted but also surely it can’t be good for my hair?

I like my hairdresser but this and other little issues caused by the salon struggling financially (uncomfortable back wash basin, massage chairs broken, the salon was freezing yesterday because they hadn’t had the heating on Sunday and Monday) makes me think about finding another hairdresser.

Cost £120 and I go every 6 weeks.

have similar to what you have done op but slightly shorter hair. I’m there usually 2.5-3 hours. My appointment slot is 3 hours

One of my work colleagues told me the other day that her hair (colour/cut/dry) takes 6 hours 😵‍💫

20 mins tops, it's a dream. Cut only obviously.

As little as possible. About half an hour for a dry cut 2-3 times a year when I can't put it off anymore.

I would like a pill to be invented that stops your hair growing whenever you want it to so you can just keep it at the length you like without intervention.

Colour, cut and blow dry every 6 weeks. £55 and a couple of hours. I've been going to the same hairdresser for over 40 years.

I hate the hairdressers with a passion. Hence having a very short crop that has a 45 minute cut and finish every 6 weeks. It used to be 4 to 5 hours for a colour/highlights then cut as they fitted other people in between. I have very sensitive hearing so always book the last cut of the day and am often the last person in there while the other staff are tidying up. I once did a saturday appointment and came out with a migraine from the noise.

Half hour? I wash my hair before I go (my preference). Hairdresser wets it further then trims about an inch off and cuts in long layers. Thank you very much. Home.

The last time I had my blonde riots done and highlights... 5hrs!!! That was pretty much 1:1 as well.

4 hours. I’m usually her only client, but I’m not bothered if she’s doing a cut and blow while I’m cooking. I find the salon super-relaxing and frequently nod off under the warmer.

I always used H&S as I have an itchy scalp but it stripped my very expensive colour. I now use Elvive colour shampoo and have no itch and the colour lays better.
