There is an indoor market which has some lovely stall - wide variety of hand made goods and food too - it doesn’t look very impressive from outside but it was well worth a visit!

The prison is quite interesting. The town is nice for a wander and there are some lovely restaurants by the river

British Ironworks, not too far away. Brilliant day out as enjoyed when staying with friends in the area.

Second the Market Hall, lots of food stalls, it smells amazing.

There are a couple of farm shops on the outskirts, Churncote Farm Shop, or Battlefield 1403.

I don't know if the river cruises are running yet this year but they go from the Welsh Bridge.

There's an NT property Attingham Park and alongside a separate open farm, Home Farm Attingham which is great for kids.

The Quarry park is lovely and worth a wander through.

I'm sure there's more but as locals you never do the stuff on your doorstep do you?!

I second the prison. It’s really interesting and not expensive if I recall.

Who is going? Ages?

The prison does self guided tours as well as guided ones. They also do escape rooms there.

Library.

Market Hall is great for a nose and food.

Enjoy walking down the small alleyways.

The Quarry Park is lovely to walk through and you can wander along the river there.

Dough and Oil for pizza, Beefy Boys for burgers. Kanu Poke for vegan. Loads of chain restaurants.

The Sabrina boat is up and running already.

Will you have a car?

Have a walk through the quarry and down the river.

The town is lovely to have a wander around. The market hall has some great food. We also went to CSONS for lunch then other week and that was great.

The museum by the town square is nice.

There is a very cute Harry Potter shop.

If you have kids, there's the usual trampoline parks but there's also a decent climbing place and the swimming pool has good diving boards.

Attingham Park is an NT property just on the outskirts and has a great mansion and lovely grounds. There is a nice gastro pub just opposite called the Mytton and Mermaid.

Likewise Haughmond Hill is a great place for a walk.

I love Shrewsbury!

Tom’sTable in the Shrewsbury market hall has food to die for. The Cat’s Pyjamas in the Square has lovely food too x
