Would diabetes have shown in hospital urine test for child in Ireland?

Yes, or at least indications that need further investigation on a very basic urine dip

Not necessarily, it can be falsely negative especially in early stages of diabetes in children
if suspected you should do a capillary blood glucose test
if your child is still showing signs of diabetes they should be seen urgently

She has had two urine tests done one in hospital and tested positive for uti and then few days later and showed it was clear and uti had cleared! She’s in good form but on laxatives for constipation as tummy still little bit sore as she suffers from constipation! She’s just more thirsty than normal and going wee more but she has diahrea from the laxatives at mo too and it’s quite warm weather wise
